Brought down like an old hotel

As I wait for the LOST to begin I'm channel surfing and remember the (ho-hum) Grammy's are on. Now Coldplay is a band I really enjoy. They're a good band (no, they're not great, they're good - what? You wann fight about it?). They were playing "Talk", a song I really love, and its now ruined. Chris Martin has no, abosutely no, power to his voice. A band that cannot perform live saddens me.
I did enjoy the audio difficulties during that "Best New Artist" country chick - reminded me of Spinal Tap. I'm glad to see Alison Krauss And Union Station to win (several times) - about the only country I can really get into (though it seems more folk bluesgrass to me). U2 - love you, but I think I'm over you. I keep waiting for something as monumental as Achtung Baby, but its not going to happen (and some duets are better left to speculation). Keane, I'd love to see you win Best New Artist but don't hold your breath. The White Stripes winning "Best Alternative" for Get Behind Me Satan, you know you didn't deserver it over Funeral by Arcarde Fire -- seriously, give it back.
It is the Grammy's, so its full of self congradulatory performances, pathetic nominations and pointless awards.
Anyway, be sure to tune in after LOST is over for my recap.
