CHAPTER 21: THE HARDEST PART
- What We Learned
- When we last saw Hiro and Ando (sorry I didn't recap Chapter 20) they were 5 years in the future, and NYC still had blown up, Nathan was THE president and collecting and killing of "heroes" -- in a blantant rip off of X-Men -- using the "Linderman Plan". Peter is with Jessica/Nikki. Oh, and Sylar isn't dead, but really is Nathan -- and kills Claire. Hiro and Ando return to current NYC only to be confronted with Sylar and the realization of what must be done -- Hiro must kill Sylar.
- Peter convinces Claire not to run away to Paris. We learn that Mama Peterlli talks with Linderman (and my assumption is that Peter and Nathan are really Linderman's kids)
- Micah figures out that his mom isn't his mom -- Micah tries to escape, but as he tries to find another door; they all lead right back to the room he left. We learn that shape-shifter lady and change the environment -- very interesting
- Mohinder (suddenly not nearly as annoying as he one was) gets some balls and calls the shots. He meets Molly, a girl who can find anything or anyone; only she's dying. Mohinder figures out she just needs blood; and maybe she can help them pin-point where Sylar is hiding.
- Sylar/Gabriel goes home to visit his mom. In what appears a sincere attempt to escape what he thinks he's going to do (blow up innocent people in NYC) he just wants to be a clock repairman again. His mom, while wanting the best of him, does not alalow him to be who he wants to be, making Sylar angry, showing off his talents to her and accidentally stabs her with scissors. Oops.
- Peter learns from Claire about Ted -- and how he can go nuclear.
- Claire sees her dad again, with Ted and Matt; and Peter is there as well, and suddenly he starts glowing -- boom boom
- What We Don't Know
- Who blows up NYC -- Peter or Sylar or Ted? Can it be stopped?
- What can Linderman do? What is his power?
- What exactly will Micah be able to do for Linderman?
- Who works for who? Does Thompson work for Linderman; or is he secretly subverting Linderman (finding other "special" people and putting them into hiding and helping them control their talents)
