All At Once

If there was a way to plan for these kinds of days, then I would rest up, take my vitamins, do some push-ups and meet this series of accumulating household. But let me back track a little bit.
The infection I had developed last weekend is gone, in it's stead I've developed a cough/cold resulting in more fever (101 degrees last night), uncomfortable, sleepless nights. I missed my chance to do the "make up" test for my senior yellow belt (again). I'm still feeling bleh. This is a bad thing.
Today started with a saw, an ax and a ladder -- chopping and pulling down branches in the back yard so that the new playset could be installed. This is a good thing.
That was followed by a trip to the vet where our 2 cats seem to be dying (Socrates has lost a great deal of weight in a few months time). This is a bad thing.
That was followed by me doing a photoshoot downtown (Pendleton Art Center), up 8 flights of stairs (up and down, because I stupidly didn't know there was an elevator) and sweating my illness through my hands and face (onto my camera) for a successful shot for a new series. Afterward I nearly collapsed in the car. This is a good and bad thing.
That was followed by having a new water filter installed in our water system. For months and months we've had periodic times of brown water, which was our filter breaking down into microscopic bits in our drinking, bathing, everday water. This is a good thing.
That was followed by noticing the ever deepening flood in our basement (the unfinished part), followed by a call to a plumber, him fixing the air conditioner drainage pipe (which had clogged, again). This was a bad thing.
That was followed by more flooding after the fix, meaning the water is from elsewhere -- me mopping and mopping the water trying to figure out its origins. This was a bad thing.
All in all just a stellar day all around. Can we afford this? No, but we have precious little choice. School starts next week, I can't seem to get better, our cats are dying, or basement keeps flooding, our water will finally not contain bits of "filter" in it and the kids can finally go outside on the lawn and get out their pent up insanity. Good and bad, all at once. We'll see if this time next year the onslaught happens again.

Hopefully the all-at-once will be followed by a little bit of nothing-at-once, or as near as it gets.
Here's prayers.
