New Fall TV

A new fall TV season is upon us (on a side note, doesn't it feel like new seasons start later and later and last shorter and shorter than even 5 years ago?). There is only a 2 new shows that seem promising, and a few that I'll give one shot to impress me (but could fail miserably) but the majority of the season shows just look horrid (Chuck, Carpoolers, Reaper, Big Bang Theory, and ALL reality shows). So, below is a list of the shows (times/dates they premiere), new and old that we'll be watching this fall.
-
NEW SERIES WITH POTENTIAL
- Pushing Daisies: ABC, Wednesdays at 8-9pm (Watch Preview) The premise is dark and quirky, and completely implausible. A boy (Ned) discovers he can bring things back to life by touching them, but if he touches them again, they die forever (and another caveat, someone else will die within 1 minute if the person he resurrected isn't returned to their proper place of death). He's discovered by a Private Investigator who uses Ned's "talent" to get information and reward money on mysterious deaths.
- Bionic Woman: NBC, Wednesdays at 9-10pm (Watch Preview) I'm a sucker for these recent TV remakes (well, mostly just Battlestar Galactica) and Bionic Woman seems to have the elements of realism and fantasy that allow shows to touch on intriguing topics without being confrontational or heavy-handed. NEW SERIES THAT GET ONE SHOT
- Cavemen: ABC, Tuesdays at 8-8:30pm (Watch Preview) There should be no reason to watch a show based on an insurance commercial -- but that's the very reason I will give the show 1 chance to see if it's even remotely funny or worthwhile. STILL WATCHING
- Family Guy: FOX, Sundays at 9-9:30pm (Watch Preview) The Star Wars episode alone looks worth DVRing for all time. The show is so hit or miss with me -- sometimes brilliant, but often I get so tired of the predictable "it's like that one time when I ..." flashbacks to cultural references.
- Heroes; NBC, Mondays at 8-9pm (Starts THIS Monday) I'm not sure what to except -- Hiro being back in time seems somewhat stupid, Silar surviving the massively disappointing season finale is lame, and where they go from here is anyone's guess. Keep a watch out for my recaps ...
- House: FOX, Tuesdays at 9-10pm (Watch Preview) I love this show -- its completely predictable and implausible, but House is the best character on TV.
- 30 Rock; NBC, Thursdays 8:30-9pm (Watch Preview) I can't imagine this show will decline in anyway -- the cast is stellar, the writing witty, sharp and hilarious. Can't wait -- starts October 4th.
- The Office; NBC, Thursdays at 9-9:30pm (Watch Preview) Jim and Pam. Dwight and Angela. Michael and Jan. Ryan takes the big promotion in NYC. Ah ... can't wait (premiere's NEXT WEEK)
What are some shows you're interested in seeing (if any)?
