Recap: Heroes (S2E5)

Sorry I missed last week, I figured most of you would understand (if you don't; just read a few posts ago). Last episode was great, the show managed to focus only on the most compelling stories (and not try to cram everyone into the episode). We learned that Parkman's dad is the scary man (and Matt asks Molly to find out where he is; and she does, but ultimately falls into a dream state). Claire likes the fly-boy West, and lies to Mr. Bennett (who forbade her from dating) telling him that she joined the cheerleading squad. Micah shows off his talent for his jerkface cousin, and his other cousin, Monica, discovers she can do whatever she sees. Sylar catches up with Alejandro and Maya (and learns of their "talents"). Ok, taught up ... moving on ... CHAPTER 5: FIGHT OR FLIGHT

What We Learned:
• Matt goes to Philadelphia with Nathan to find his father. Suresh takes Molly to "The Company" for help (against HRG/Noah's pleading not to). Nathan and Matt get conned into thinking Matt's dad is harmless and faultless, when he then traps them inside their minds/dreams (pretty creepy; and well done).
• Micah helps Monica get in touch with her Copycat powers, while his mom/Jessica attempts an escape (maybe they'll kill her off)
• Peter goes into hiding (to make out) because rumors spread of a blond woman searching for him. Turns out she has the lightning (that we saw Peter use), but she's told to return home and not get Peter (hmmm)
• Ando is reading about the adventures with Hiro and Kense -- blah blah blah -- still the least interesting story line.

What We Don't Know
• Who this new blond chick works for (is it Matt's dad, the Company?)
• Why did they capture Peter, what did they do to him and how did he escape?
• Does Monica's grandmother have powers as well?
• What's in Montreal?
• Who is killing off the "originals" and why?

I thought this was an excellent episode; it narrowed the focus of the stories, it kept a good pace, it introduced intriguing elements (without overwhelming the flow). Very fun, very engaging. I'm excited to see where they take this ...
