Distractions: Somebody's got to look out for you Edition

I've been terribly inconsistent and wildly silent the last several weeks, for too many numerous reasons; both good and bad (very busy with work == good, very busy at home with finances, debt management and corralling a child who seems to be falling apart == bad). But we all need a healthy dose of humor, intrigue, entertainment and ... well, whatever it is I find and put here. I (almost) vow to get back into a weekly schedule.
- Mmmm, bacon cups
- Redneck Mansion
- How can you make sure that you get a website domain name that one will else will take? You could do what Jennifer Daniel did.
- Odds Of Dying From... is just that, a list of the odds of you dying from any number of things
- When are my favorite shows coming back? A simple list of when shows (that went on hiatus during the writers strike) will be showing new episodes.
- Haunting music video that Heath Ledger created (directed, filmed and starred in) to the Nick Drake song "Black Eyed Dog" (which was a term Winston Churchill used to describe depression) -- who also died of a accidental drug overdose. I wish there were a version sans-commentary.
- Mugshot round up from List Of The Day
- Can you tell the pop songs from their pictures?. Some of these are pretty lame (and pretty easy). I like the idea though, one that Whiskerino attempted one day
- Presidential Oddities. This is strangely appropriate, as Abigail is working on a report about Ohio born presidents. My favorite tid-bit ""Hail to the Chief" was written written specifically for James Madison, because he was so short that no one ever noticed when he entered the room." Ouch.
- MENSA's list of the "smartest shows" of all time. Meh. I mostly disagree.

That's so sad about Heath. I didn't know there was a term for depression called "black-eyed dog"; that's interesting.
