Flickr Video

Yesterday Flickr unveiled a new tier to their online sharing community -- video. This morning the functionality to actually upload those videos magically appeared (along with new page titles == "Photos and Video from wiseacre photo". They've set limitations -- no longer than 90 seconds or 150mb and only PRO members can upload -- keeping the files quick, easy and (in their hopes) original; but include all the exact features that a photo has (groups, sets, comments, embedding, sizes, etc). I'm sure its an awesome thing for some people, but I don't ever do anything video related ... or will I? I am curious to see how this affects who and what is posted and "consumed" (found interesting) by the Flickr community -- and if the site will become sub-divided into videographers and photographers ...

I think video and photography go great together. The whole multi-media slide show thing that is popping up on news web sites is great.
I'm sure there is room for some 'YouTube' effect on Flickr, but I personally think photographers should embrace video.
