Recap: Heroes (Season Crap, Episode Who Cares)

Dear The "Writers" of Heroes:
I've found someone else. They're engaging me in thought and giving me surprises and entertainment continually. The more time we spend together the better our relationshiop seems to get. I know people like to say "it's not you, it's me", but really, it's all you. You mostly suck. I care so little about you that I'm reduced to writing an overused blogging gimmick of the "Dear Blah Blah" because I don't feel its worthwhile being more original.
We started out so well. The hopes ran high. I watched and enjoyed the X-Men world you ripped off and you made me believe it could be just as good or better. Then you got distracted and started loosing focus, abandoning good writing for cleverness and action, hoping you could regain those glimpses of your previous glory. It never happened.
You got obsessed with making some grand point -- about prejuidice or politics or rquality or time racism or something. You tried being something you were not. Perhaps having a president that you don't hate has made your writing bland?
What happened to the characters? I'd prefer you kill them all, rather than be subjected each character becoming the whiny, grimmacing screamers with no depth or connection. Hiro was once funny and innocent, now he's annoying and childish. Matt was troubled and conflicted, but now he's some frowning shaman. Nathan, well, was always a douche. Peter should have died in Season 1. Claire needs to suffer more - break her legs or face a few times, we loved seeing her mangled and then repaired. I even had hoped you would flip everything upside down my reforming Silar; but you went back to your old tricks. You took away everone's power, then gave them back, but then you didn't really; then people gained powers when they had none before. It's fairly obvious you're lost.
Please, kill them all. Start over. Or better yet, learn how to write.
We had some fun and good times. But now you make me sadder than baby Jesus at a mullet convention in Montreal. Either way, I'll be on a different channel while you try to crawl yourself out of the mess you've made.

Yeah, I'm a bit tired of the runaround in Heroes. I really don't understand why TV executives can't get it through their heads that it's better to end a series BEFORE everyone gets tired of it, before the plot gets stretched and rehashed until nobody cares about it.
But I still like Heroes. I have a feeling it's the businesspeople rather than the writers who are causing the problem. The writer might have enough ideas for 26 episodes, but the network wants 52. What does the writer do? Like a cook who's told to make 50 tubes of sausage out of 25 tubes worth of meat, he starts grabbing at scrapple, breadcrumbs, bacos and other filler.
I also like Fringe a lot. I felt like it started off a bit wobbly, but it seems to have momentum now. With my luck, however, Fox will cancel it.

I'm glad I stuck with Fringe, its progressively gotten better (a combination of X-Files, LOST and 24). So far they've stayed true to their created reality. And I think that's my issue with Heroes. They've consistently alerted the world they established. The interesting story archs (like Adam -- he never aged or died, how long was he alive, was he THE Adam?) they abandon for more trite bland ones -- gathering everyone different up into camps; making a lame political statement (and copying X-Men).

i agree that heros was better in the beginning. I still watch it because I actually enjoy the way they reinforce humanitarian principals; the good vs evil. the conflict is intriguing. so i have to disagree that it sucks now... but thought your parody hilarious. i can't wait to see the rest of your blog. peeeace.

Well, there are many more shows showing the conflict of good and evil, and doing it much better, than Heroes. I haven't watched in 2 seasons, I have no desire to start again. Chuck is far more entertaining and confident in what it is. Fringe still is more intriguing. Friday Night Lights is more heart-felt and genuine. Southland more gritty, raw and focused on true conflict and the human condition. The list of shows better than Heroes could go on (and on and on).

I watch all the Tv series good, bad or plain rubbish
For me Heroes is the worse, like other said before, oscar for the worse script, bad acting, lame use of time travel that doesn't make ANY SENSE.
Fringe is also lame (sorry guys but it's true), the science aspect of it is not believable whatsoever, and don't get me started on Joshua Jackson... Thank's to Agent Dunham and the mad scientist it's still possible to survive through the 40 minutes.
Lost - Just like heroes and don't get why they even bother to pay people writing scenarios if it's not supposed to make sense at the end...Just waisted so much time watching Lost... And I'll watch the last season see what lame twist they come up with
Ok let me suggest some good fun series now (Modern Family, Better off Tef, Pushing Daisies....)
And for those who don't care about comedy : (most of them quiet old though) the wire, BSG, Boston justice, Oz, Sopranos (if you know any good & recent ones... let me know)

Dear Heroes people. I am more than a little appauled at how bad your program has become. The first couple of series were rather clever and gave me hope that a TV 'version' of X-men would ensue. Instead we are left with the latest series involving some kop out carnival (and a man with the worst accent and over acting I have ever seen) which is just insulting.
I mean just 2 ridiculous things are as follows: if Hiro can still travel through time (which he is still doing regularly) why on Earth doesn't he go back and wipe out/negate the faux gipsy leaders' threats? Also, why would a fat man with a slight 2 dollar grudge decide to slash the face of a young blonde with a bottle just for stepping in on some stupidly written/thought out plan? I really do not get it. Whoever is 'writing' this nonsense should be ashamed as it had gone down hill like nothing I have seen before.
