Melancholy Rain
Monday November 22nd 2004
by Sonya Armstrong

There's a peace and a melancholy kind of comfort that come with these gray days
There's a familiar kind of feeling reflected in the sky
reminding me of Rochester rain
and of all those times I hid my pain
It's hard to believe I've come so far from that mausoleum.. now in my mind holding the memories
preserving people i have not seen for so long
they're buried alive
And I survive
Send the rain down on me now
Wash away the stain
help me let go of these past hurts
But don't let me forget this melancholy rain
